Free(!) Bike.

From Marc Kase:

I have an extra bike and I am going to pay it forward--- If any cyclist in Bloomington wants a free bike, let me know. I am giving away my 63cm steel 1985 Guerciotti with year 2000 Campy Record 10 speed components. It does not include pedals but is otherwise in good working order and is suitable for a rider between 6'2" and 6'7" who weighs under 200 lbs. I will give preference to Little 500 riders who are riding for teams that have a budget of under $1,000. The requirements are that you have to agree to store the bike inside, that you will not sell it, and that you will ride the shit out of it. (Of course you can give it away to someone else when you are done with it.)
This is an awesome bike and I want to give it to someone who needs it and will use it.

Please add a comment to this post if you are interested.

I might be able to give this bike a good home if little 500 guys do not need it.

My main use for the bike would be hill training and commuting, but i would keep her clean and indoors.

Send me an e-mail at ChandlerMyles@gmail.com if no one else is interested.

I would love to give this bike a home. I would use it mostly for commuting and hill climbing. I'm a Little 5 rider. Feel free to shoot me an e-mail.

Sounds like Chris needs it more than I do...

I think I speak for everyone when I say give it to a current Little 5'er. Not an Alum.

I am a rookie rider and am currently riding a 1982/83 Fuji Berkeley. I am 6'1" and have the seat at the minimum insertion line right now because the frame is so small. The bike is completely stock and is heavier than my little 5 bike so I tend to take the little 5'er out on most workouts. I would love the chance to ride a bike that is the right size for me. Thanks.

Marc,

I am 6'5, looking to get into cycling, and have been scouring Bloomington for a bike in my size to no avail. One of my friends referred me to this link and I thought it was too good to be true! Everything I've looked at is way out of my price range. I am a student on an extremely low budget and no affordable form of transportation outside of the bus system. The bike would be put to use every day for local commute and short distance rides with friends. The bike would be stored inside, well maintained and used daily! Let me know! jtmorton@indiana.edu

I'd love to take advantage of this if it's not too late! I'm riding in Little 5 for my fraternity, Beta Sigma Psi, which has only been on campus for 4 years and this will be our first year with a team. We're hoping to start a great tradition despite the fact that we have no funding from the fraternity. We've had to throw together what is available to us, including the fact that I'm riding my dad's old Schwinn. I'm 6'6" and would obviously maintain the bike and keep it in great condition. And after a couple years, I'll proudly pass it on to future rookies. Thanks!
