6 laps. Scholars Inn Bakehouse midway granola prime for top male and female! Top finishers (first male, first female) racing for $20 gift certificates to the Scholars Inn! Second place: a pat on the back! Tom S.
Newsflash!!! Not every cycling related event in this town has to revolve around Team Scholars Inn Bakehouse. Leave it alone! Put on a race or something. There is no reason for you to be involved in worlds as it is not a team event. I appreciate the sentiment but it puts some undo pressure on those not on the team. It is not the only team around, you know? Also, Worlds becomes a lot less fun if team tactics start taking precedent.
Geez, Scholars is doing no harm in offering these little prizes. What is so wrong with giving back to the Bloomington cycling community? WW has never had team tactics and will never in the future. Its a great opportunity to smash it and see how you stand up to the other riders in Bloomington. Scholars is putting on Btown crit and they organize WW. It is the new team tortuga which used to be the organizer of WW. Just be grateful that Bloomington has this great weekly event.
every time i line up for a (practice) race I look at the picture of my little daughter, and then I light it on fire and throw it in the gutter and think to myself:
"no distractions. today is just as good a day to die as any other---but TODAY there could be Scholar's Inn Bakehouse Granola on the line----EFF EVERYTHING! IT'S ON MOFOS!"
If you win during the month of march you could purchase no less than TWENTY bagels with "schmear" at SIB.
Anon 11.04pm. You're an idiot. Get informed. You'll leave town in a few years (sooner the better) and WW and other associated rides will live on. Back in the day (before EVEN my time) there was a jersey given out every week! For the past 8(?) Tortuga have added a little order to WW which I think has improved the event. This is the latest incarnation of that. Who knows who long SIB will be involved but at the moment mixing it up a little certainly doesn't harm.
Some think that the 446 circuit is used too often but it is the most user friendly. Most towns have a set route EVERY week (here in liverpool, twice a week) so the variety of WW is what makes it great!
As long as people realize that when they roll up on Wednesday, they are entering the challenge to win the ultimate prize....granola or not.
In the final weeks of his habitation in Bloomington, Chris Chartier won three consecutive WWs. His family, job and health might wax and wane in the breezes of time but THAT achievement will live for EVER.
In support of Geraint not that he needs any. I think it’s is quite sad how people with low self-esteem hide behind the veil of anonymity and lash out with feeble uneducated statements in order to try to make themselves feel better. It's all just for fun and if it's not don't participate.
You're an absolute fool, 11:04. Where would cycling be without the support of local businesses like Scholars Inn Bakehouse? There would be less cycling teams and races, that's for certain. Again, you're a fool.
I'm not fit enough to contend for the prime, but I wouldn't mind some granola!
If my empire lasts for a thousand years, men will still say, "those were my finest wednesdays."

Winston Churchill not quite.
Not that I agree with Mr. 11:04 (at all). Let me try and maybe put a spin on it that may make more sense? :-/
Maybe, just maybe the concern is not that there are primes, but that he/she enjoyed lining up with nothing more than pride on the line? Maybe he/she is grateful that places like Scholar's donate time and money, but doesn't feel the need for them to be involved in WW? Maybe he/she is concerned that his beloved weekly training "race" will become one where entry fees are required after one logs onto truesport (which it is never enjoyable to give them any money)? I have no idea.
I have no idea, I tried to play Devil's advocate and failed miserably. Go race for some granola, it won't change anything.
Chartier, I have read this comment thread three times and laughed each time. We are funny.

Thank you SIB for organizing this weekly ride --- and for the prime incentive (should make the ride that much more interesting). Keep up the good work. At the end if the day (primes or not), this is still a training ride (a great one at that). For those that bitch and moan -- don't participate (no one is forcing your hand here).
