IUSF Tuesday Night Racing Series #2

Just a reminder that IUSF is hosting the second Fall Tuesday Night Racing Series at Bill Armstrong Stadium tomorrow night (October 9th) beginning at 7:00pm.  There are lots of riders on the pre-reg list already and it's shaping up to be a good night of racing! Riders will be split up into different categories based on the year that they completed Rookie Week. IUSF will track the progress of all riders and award points based on performance enabling riders to move up in category as the series progresses.  If you can't make it, follow the online live stream at: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/iusf-little-500-tuesday-night-race-2

Should be some good racing!  Contact IUSF (Jordan Bailey, bailey25@indiana.edu) with any questions.

Look to the 1,2,3 category for good races not the cat 4. Please don't even give this rider ^ attention who posts under different spellings to throw people off his tracks. My money is on the cutters tonight unless Smith can handle them. In the end its the legs that do the talking.

Friends,

"Kraggie" is how my bro Dewart spells my name and I think he's started a trend haha. I rarely post on BVN but when I do I like to sign my name, @11:50.

I agree with you that the 1, 2, 3s are where the good racing will be. Jordan said I have to race two nights before upgrading so I'm pumped to be with the big dogs on Oct 23rd.

As for that other ridiculous thread comparing me to Young.. what a JOKE. I'm just a simple frat guy that loves everything about Little 500 and have no chance of ever being a Cat 1.

Regarding tonight's races. I think the results will be a bit harder to predict due to the nature of the events (i.e. Unknown Distance, etc.). Either way, see you guys out there for another fun night of racing. Cheers to Jordan and Rachel Stillman and the rest of SC for organizing these great events!

Way to be classy, kudos.

kragie's my hero

Anonymous said...

kragie and methered will win tonight. let kragie into the 1/2s

Anonymous said...

both of those riders will be lucky to keep it upright. watch the race tapes from last year, they both spend more time eating cinders than they do on the bike

Anonymous said...

Troll^

Anonymous said...

kragie no troll

Anonymous said...

Hopefully bishop talks to RJ about getting dtd converted to 10,000 feet or they're in trouble. Would have liked to see finish of last year if cutters didn't crash because I fear that it would have been much different. It's cutters race to lose this year; same as it has been the past decade

Anonymous said...

Kragie sucked. Stay in the 4s.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, what a shame the cutters crashed. It's not like Kevin was the reason the crash happened. He has caused crashes his whole cycling career. If he learns to ride a bike on cinders then they have a lesser chance than years past.

Anonymous said...

Great events, thanks so much to Jordan and IUSF for putting on a great series. Looking forward to the next one.

Anonymous said...

Who is the cutters 4th guy?

Anonymous said...

lazer smoked the cutters train

Anonymous said...

beta was looking good on the track

Anonymous said...

where's the report on TNRS? GP would've had that up in minutes. word is that melissa moeler was killing it last night. would've beaten the cutters cohort if she'd had the chance. add kragie to make future L5 champions

Anonymous said...

^cocksucker
out of everyone sam harbison probably looked the best. no results to show it since he was the cutters sacrificial lamb

Anonymous said...

Hey remember that one time when Fowler was a Beta?

Anonymous said...

Melissa Moeller didn't win anything and I don't think Kargie did either. nice try.

Anonymous said...

mopeller won the unknown race check the results: http://iusf.indiana.edu/little500/October%209th%20Points.pdf

Anonymous said...

kragie's not even winning the cat 4 division. seems like sig ep will be stronger than beta come april

Anonymous said...

@3:29 Can you read? You post a link as proof Melissa won and your proof shows she got 4th, 3rd and 2nd. You need thicker reading glasses.

Anonymous said...

you people are so dumb

Anonymous said...

@3:56 +1

Anonymous said...

armstrong's innocent. this case is a load of bull. bureaucratic cocksuckers

Anonymous said...

beta's about due for another win. they've got a strong team and are definitely the favorites this year

Anonymous said...

Beta? you must be on some of their molly if you believe that. They'll be lucky to be top 5. Cutters, Delts, Theta Chi, and Sig Ep are the teams to watch. Beta and Fiji are decent second tier teams

Anonymous said...

^ this guy.

Anonymous said...

^this fuckin guy

Anonymous said...

wow. that guy. gotta mouth like a sailor

Anonymous said...

I just pooped a little

Anonymous said...

sig ep? theta chi? please tell me this is a joke. delts have nothing without rj. cutters will crash. phi delt will get 2nd. beta, sigma chi and bkb will be the contenders

Anonymous said...

beta's as likely to crash as the cutters. bkb will fly into the lead and get blown out the back by lap 120. sigma chi's strong and phi psi's looking good too

Anonymous said...

Those fucking fascists censored my comments. You Ingsoc, Brave New World fascists, I will not stand for this!

Race Predictions

2/1: CUTTERS- By far the deepest team on the track this year and could win in multiple ways. Depasse has the potential to win a sprint if it comes down to that (assuming he doesn't crash himself out and seal his fate as the worst race day performer in CUTTER history). Sammy and Timothy are also looking very strong and could win like they did in 08. It's their race to lose.

4/1:Beta- Also a deep team with lots of race day experience. Surely they've learned something from all the mistakes they've made over the last few years. Beta's relentless self promotion aside, Kragie is a legitimate sprinter and gives them their best shot at winning. Still a lot of time for improvement.

4/1: DTD- Same odds as Beta, with a higher ceiling of improvement. Definitely not short on confidence and Paul Smith will be a nice addition to their team. Sojka and Momper are solid as well, although Momper has an elevated sense of self-worth. If they are going to win this year they need to get over their win last year. Maybe DTD can turn one of their cold dorms into a hyperbaric chamber, assuming they actually live in the house.

8/1: Theta Chi/Sig Ep- Definitely up and coming teams, good for them. However, they wont be able to fly under the radar and race like pussies for a top 5 finish. Torrence could shake things up at the end of the race, but I'm guessing he will have to do too much work to get Sig Ep there. I don't know who Theta Chi's top rider is (Duncan?) but they don't quite have the fire power yet to get the W.

9/1: BKB- Last year was probably the year for them, but ran into some bad luck, oh well sucks to suck. Their veteran riders (Kinn and Powell) have looked lousy at the Tuesday night races. They don't appear to have a rider who is strong enough to close out the race for them and as a whole their team isn't strong enough to break away at the end. Independent teams may be a dying breed unfortunately (with the exception of the CUTTERS). Maybe they can watch the race with TMT and Dodds in the coming years

10/1: Sigma Chi- Fish and Morrow were huge loses for Sigma Chi and Arfman, Greenlee and Small are racing for a top ten finish to keep the momentum of their bike program going. Could be the end of an era (a short one) for Sigma Chi if they fail to keep this program afloat.

11:04 = cutter

Anonymous said...

delts and beta should be up with cutters, if not above. delts are the defending champs and return half their race team plus paul smith, who is just as good as rj. beta will be a contender if they can keep it upright

Anonymous said...

maybe if you didn't post dumbass comments they wouldn't get censored. geniuses that post on here

Anonymous said...

11:04 = accurate. @11:32 if you read the delts section it says to get over your win last year.

Anonymous said...

top 5 teams this year = cutters, beta, delts, sig ep, theta chi.

Anonymous said...

Top 5: Cutters, Beta, BKB, Sigma Chi, DTD

Anonymous said...

@ The Silver Fox

You have any odds for other teams?

Anonymous said...

@11:44

Keep on hatin'

Anonymous said...

top 5 bkb, cutters, beta, sigma chi, lambda

Anonymous said...

@ 1:50

I see no other real contenders for the win but if I had to round out the top ten I'd say...

7th: Fiji- Strong program with some young talent... McCleary?
8th: DU- They appear to give a shit which is usually enough for a top ten
9th: Phi Psi- Historically strong program. Miles is a strong rider and should be able to get them top ten.
10th: Lambda Chi- Seem like some pretty cool geeds. If I recall they were mostly rookies last year and if they're all returning they might squeeze into the top ten. Maybe they can help DTD pull Smith around the track when he's lapping the field

1/1 odds Phi Delt gets 2nd.

...but ya never know. Haven't seen any teams pull stud rookies out of the wood work yet. Seems to be one or two ever year

- The Silver Fox

Anonymous said...

Stud rookies are all in the DTD camp/compound this year

Anonymous said...

du and lambda should be contenders this year

Anonymous said...

One word, .....how?

Anonymous said...

they've got more talent than cutters, delts, and sigma chi combined. only beta has a deeper team

Anonymous said...

Stud rookies? Look at Jacob Miller over in BKB - won almost all TNFS both times, in the rookie category.

Anonymous said...

Lolz rookies? How often do they make a difference? Kragie and Torrence were a big deal last year and what did they do in the race? Nothing. Look to veteran talent to see the real teams. Delts and cutters will compete for the win. Beta returns everyone but I don't see them doing anything

Anonymous said...

rookie young 3rd in ITTs, didn't ride in the race, but would've made a big impact

Anonymous said...

point proven - even a 3rd place ITT rookie had 0 impact on the 2008 race

Anonymous said...

top 5 cutters, bkb, theta chi, beta, fiji

Anonymous said...

top 5: lambda, DU, FiJi, Beta, Phi Delt

Anonymous said...

news flash: the greek teams suck compared the the geeds. gray goat has a better chance than phi delt and beta. the others will be lucky to crack top 20

Anonymous said...

Delts, period.

Anonymous said...

FRAT

Anonymous said...

beta ftw

Anonymous said...

CUTTERS by far have got to be the favorites. no one can dispute the 500 rings floating around the cutters camp

Anonymous said...

Delts will be their own worse enemy and everyone else will crash or get spit out the back when CUTTERS attack

Anonymous said...

Still at a loss as to how anyone thinks this will not be a DTD win?

Anonymous said...

they'll be busted for doping by USADA a la Armstrong

Anonymous said...

phi delt's just as likely to be on the juice. as is every other frat team out there

Anonymous said...

rj stuart is eligible for another race as a 5th year, isn't he?

Anonymous said...

Baby do you remember when, fireworks at Lake Michigan.....

Anonymous said...

beta Beta BETA BETA!!!!!

Anonymous said...

1st: CUTTERS
2nd Phi Delt (as usual)
3rd: BKB
4tth: Beta
5th: Delts
6th: Lambda
7th: Sigma Chi
8th: DU
9th: Theta Chi
10th: FiJi

Now I'm coming home again, maybe we can start again?

Anonymous said...

its funny no one here even mentions ATO and AKAK not so long ago year-year they finished top 5 consistently..

Tom said...

Acacia is off campus for the next 2 years. So no Little 500 team.

Anonymous said...

ATO and AKAk are a joke now. they'd be lucky to qual for the women's race

Anonymous said...

100 miles. IUCC one step closer to beating Marian

Anonymous said...

congrats IUCC, you can ride as far as 7000 people will next weekend on hybrids

Anonymous said...

^troll, try to hang in with these riders. You'll get dropped

Anonymous said...

Agreed. Not sure how you're supposed to say anything bad about the best road racers on campus. Congrats to those boys. Back to back century's!

Anonymous said...

Who is on the IU A team?

Anonymous said...

not you.

Anonymous said...

The A's that have been meeting are Turner Duncan, Austin Venhuizen, John Becker, Charlie McClary, Drew Coelho, Rj Stuart, Graham Dewart, Paul Smith.

The above riders are your Indiana Cycling A Team. Please note, other riders are welcome to join if planning on racing collegiate. 100 mile rides average around 20 mph but are steady with 1 stop for refueling. Follow @IndianaCycling for weekend ride information.

THE TIME HAS COME. THIS IS HAPPENING.

-VELOMINATI-

Anonymous said...

note to everyone reading this momper is NOT an A on the road team...

Anonymous said...

Mr. Luke Momper of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity currently holds a Cat 3 racing license. That makes him eligible to race collegiate A's. This year Momper currently has made 0 team rides. Also See: Kevin Depasse (2), Sam Harbison(3), Eric Anderson(2), Tim Nixon(2). Focus on Little 5 is very big at our school and a win brings great respect. Any biking is good biking.

-VELOMINATI-

Anonymous said...

aren't all of those kids cat 4s besides rj and graham?

Anonymous said...

"kids" that's not miles talking it it? It's okay cause Momper rather be a sand bagging bitch in the Bs same with Anderson

Anonymous said...

Ya cause riding the same route on Friday iusf ride it a huge difference then riding with fellow cutter bitches an hour before.

Anonymous said...

you people hate too much. The A's are doing a great thing and started getting a great group of guys together to put in the long miles and build comradery together that they will need when the races begin. It seems like a major goal of IUCC is to stop the individual team bias against eachother and ride as one solid team. Theres no pointing that "cutters" were out the group ride or that beta had 3 riders at that ride, its that the A's squad had a dozen riders all their that are ready to compete together and want to push IUCC back into the spotlight.

Cheers

Anonymous said...

agreed, these guys have done a lot to buck the trend of "my L5 team vs. yours" and promote a healthy environment for cycling and racing at IU. that'll pay dividends come springtime
