nothing new....

In these turbulent times it's worth saying that Lance wasn't the first to be on the juice. This is some comical coverage of domestique Bjarne Riis climbing Hautcam in the big ring. So ridiculous but it is great racing so..... Watch from 10min for the best big-ring action with Big-Mig looking like a Big-Ox.

Given the bore-fest of the TdF Sky domination this year, could the future of cycling lie with Alberto Contador? One of the most amazing things is that Contador didn't get Lance-stung and get busted for EPO like Landis et al....perhaps he has been clean the whole time.... What's that? He rode for Manolo Saiz.....oh well....

sky is going to lose their entire team anyway... no past or present dopers is a good way to get your ass kicked in the pro tours.

He might not have been the first but he was for sure the biggest bully about it and the biggest lier about it. The science is there. His use of hgh most likely caused his cancer. And its funny, livestrong only donates a small small percentage of funds to cancer research. The rest is all about "cancer awareness" ..who the hell isn't aware of cancer by now. If you still look up to lance, evaluate your morals.

"His use of hgh most likely caused his cancer."

You a cancer researcher?

Doubt it.

"Lance told me that he stopped using HGH after his cancer. I understand, however, that he used HGH before he contracted cancer.''

-George Hincappie Affidavit

hmmm.. I wonder why he might stopped

Also, http://www.preventcancer.com/avoidable/breast_cancer/hgh_risks.htm

"HGH increase risks of prostate cancer"

Its not a fact but when you start messing with your hormones and you happen to get cancer and the info is there. put 2 and 2 together

11:48am...

your comments reflect an unfortunately common ignorance about Livestrong. But I'm not picking only on you, plenty of people are equally ignorant.

"The rest is all about cancer awareness..." Really?? Care to reveal your inside source of that info? As a cancer survivor (as is my wife), I have personally benefited from the services offered by Livestrong. But my support of the organization doesn't mean I support HIM.

Was Livestrong started by a lying, cheating, bullying douchebag? Yes, it was. But that doesn't diminish the good that the organization has done for thousands of cancer patients.

Think about how much more could have been done...you think all the sales of those yellow bracelets and the huge donations have all gone to research? You are wrong. Sorry your wife got cancer, but she isn't the only one. We are all effected by the disease. The yellow bracelets and the donations went to support his lavish lifestyle with jets as well as huge mansions in Aspen among other things. Wake up.

Actually he did not receive a salary from Livestrong, and it is one of the top rated nonprofits in the country.

12:43 way to be bro. get the facts.

Anonymous said...

So you are telling me he didn't profit from his livestrong "not for profit" in anyway?

Again, you are wrong. Wake Up.

I heard the Cutters won the Hilly Hundred

Anonymous said...

He may have profited, but not financially from donations. I'm sorry, sure he doped but so did almost every rider at that time. You look at the first tour he won and you have to go back twenty riders to find someone who hasn't at some point in time been proven to have doped, and that's in part because no one cares about the guy that finished 20 people back. Do your research on doping, realize the money that was at stake. If you were competing at that level, against guys who were doping and knew you could never win, never make it as a pro without it, can you honestly say with 100% confidence that you wouldn't do it? If so, kudos to you because riding clean at that level is a relatively new thing (or really old depending on how you look at it).

Wake up? Look at the good that Livestrong has done, at least it has inspired millions of people to be active, and in some cases, it has inspired hope for those fighting with a rough disease. If you can't see the bigger picture beyond the mistakes and actions single man, than that is ridiculous.

Please pull your head out of your ass you simpleton. I am talking about the revenue being generated from the yellow bracelets aka the profits put in lance's pockets for his jet and fine dining lifestyle which could have gone to cancer research. I never referred to his doping. Different argument. Again, wake up.

They're right actually, he never pulled a salary from livestrong, or collected money from the bracelets.

Anonymous said...

Don't the profits from the bracelet go back to Nike and they make the donation to Livestrong?

Show me the numbers. Does anyone actually know where the money went? That's my point. He might not have taken a salary, but he definitely profited off of "cancer awareness". He is a good businessman, a great cyclist and an amazing fraud.

I will say in light of todays events it's a problem for the UCI regardless who has actually won the TdF. Since most everyone was on the dope then the results should stand with an asterisk. Looking at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Tour_de_France_winners it's ridiculous that Riis is listed as a winner when he admitted to doping in that Tour! Ullrich and Pantani popped at different times and don't start on the Caisse d'Espargne inspired Pereiro! Andy Schleck doesn't deserve a tour anyway even if he is/maybe clean!

It's all pretty screwed up. Put a asterisk next to it and move on. Just don't say that Big Mig doped or I'll start to weep.

Isn't it time the Greg LeMond finally gets his due? Still holds the record for fastest average speed in the TDF. Hell he even won after getting shot!

Anonymous said...

Big Mig is a Lance Armstrong supporter so it's quite possible that he was a doper too. He thinks this whole situation is not fair to Lance because the others who doped are going around like heroes for ratting Lance out and only getting worthless suspensions.

Anonymous said...

Lance Armstrong lived his high end lifestyle because of his cycling and endorsements from his cycling. Period. He is a dick to anybody he is competing against, a horrible husband, a selfish control freak, and one of the cockiest athletes of all time. He used all sorts of PED's, but if there is one thing Armstrong didn't do it was steal money from the Livestrong organization.

Cutters only won the Hilly because Harbeson pulled them up all the hills.

Anonymous said...

I'm assuming cutters only won because they all stayed upright the whole time.
