Domination from IU in saturdays road race.
In Little 500 terms I'd say important markers were laid down by PDT and Theta.

I'd say the biggest "marker" was laid down by Eric Young.

Second place is the first loser...

"Second place is the first loser..."

Thanks Ricky Bobby. So where does that put the rest of the IU squad (and particularly the Little 500 field)?

If you guys haven't figured it out yet, if anyone besides Cutters plans on winning Little500 you're going to have to find a way to keep Young off the bike and off the lead lap on Lap 199...

... failing that its a race for 'first loser'!

aaahh...therein lies the rub. Eric's team won't get him to 199!

Nothing...it just means that 2nd place in an early March collegiate RR is not a "big marker". It was a nice result...nothing more

So far, the rest of the field has managed to have Cutter's ass presented to them on a platter in the waning laps of the race and couldn't get the job done.

Cutters look at least as strong as last year.

There are going to need to be some teams and riders stepping up and showing they have some brass.

Talk is cheap. Cutters deliver (who else can claim the same?)

Well they have 4 returning riders and they all got a lot better. 2 of them were completely new to riding last year. Young only got second because there was a guy off the front. he won the sprint. They certainly aren't going to let anyone get off the fron in Little 5.

"2 of them were completely new to riding last year."

Who, twiddle dee and twiddle dumb? Chumps!

"Young only got second because there was a guy off the front."

...and Clayton only looks funny because he has stupid hair. Cutters already making excuses??

Eric's finish was a nice result...nothing more. Hell, he was only racing against a few L5ers and (aside from Ren-Jay who dropped out) it looks like the other two finished in the top 10.

I love how defensive the Cutters are getting:) Is the pressure building? We'll see how things shake out over the few weeks.

Your first mistake. 'Play the ball, not the man.' Childish name calling only serves to show someone is scared (and it ain't Cutters).

I started this thread, and in spite of appearances, it wasn't to blow sunshine up Cutter's collective asses. It was to serve fair warning to the rest of you that they're the team to beat (and if you guys don't show some balls this time around, they're gonna clean your clocks _again_).

Cutters as perennial favorites may not be the best thing for Little 500 but someone has to take it from them to change the equation. All I can see at this point is that its theirs to lose.

I think the field very much respects Eric, but they aren't scared. Clayton? Ehh...not so much. Tweedle dee and Tweedle dumb? nope!

Cutters race to lose? Yep! The thing is everyone else has nothing to lose. See ya at the track! OUT!

If you're not scared of Young, you don't get it.

Also, look at the threads on here - Cutters post under their real names.

No. The problem is that "everyone else" doesn't know how to win. Racing to 'not lose' is a far cry from racing to win.

Understand this: For Cutters there is no "second place". Its _everything_ for the win. You guys have to figure out how to match that fire and focus.

It means some of you teams out there are going to have to take risks. Put it on the line.

Funny that even some of the best Little 5ers in the past couple years struggled to get top 10 finishes in MWCCC field sprints. Much less win them. On a cross bike. All of you who aren't worried about Young on lap 199... well, best of luck to you.

On a cross bike? Damn! Clayton is a number 1 rider on any team, as he showed last year when he pulled Cutters back twice. Then Young will be one of the top 5 Little 5 riders in history when it's all over, and he didn't even make the team his freshman year with a 3rd place in ITT's. The 1-2 punch is the strongest I have seen since 1992.

Has anyone noticed how obsessed everyone is with the Cutters?
BVN is just overrun with comments about the Cutters, no matter WHAT the original subject of the post is, proving several things:
A. Everyone has put them on a pedestal (albeit a deserved pedestal).
2. They really are better than everyone else (just look at the results).
D. You all need to ride your bikes more instead of bitching and moaning about people who win more than you.

This is all coming from a non-cutter. Either find something else to talk about, or start beating them so everyone has something new to talk about.

well stated. maybe if half the guys teams bitching about the Cutters on here spent half as much time on their bikes as they did on BVN reading, posting, whining and complaining, ETC., they'd actually be able to throw down more on race day. I'M JUST SAYIN'.

In reference to dweedle dee and tweedle dumb: you're just fueling the fire. Sure I didn't know how to ride a bike last year but I will tell you this: I still don't really know how to ride all that well but I can still ride with the best anyone else has to offer and even better is that I'll be pursuing my second ring. We'll see who gets the last laugh during the podium presentations. See ya at the track bitches

Teams rise and fall together in Little 5. If you didn't walk away with a ring last April, then maybe you should start defending yourself and your own team of riders for why YOU shouldn't be called "Tweedle Dee" and "Tweedle Dumb."

Say what you want, but as far as I can tell based on your posts, your 4th finger lacks a little bit of weight. Best of luck to you on April 24, brah. Sounds like you'll need it.
