Teter/Delts Win Team Pursuit

Well, the results are in and Teter once again won Team Pursuit and clinched the white jersey by a comfortable margin. After a dominating prelim performance, they encountered a gritty challenge from Theta in the finals, but pulled away in the latter part of the race. Once again, they go into the race as heavy favorites, but today also proved that they'll have to be wary of Kathleen Chelminiak's speed. On the Men's side, Phi Delts had a strong preliminary run to cruise into the finals, but in the end it was Delts who walked away with the Team Pursuit victory. Phi Delts' performance however, earned them the white jersey.

Interesting to note that both Teter and Theta looked strong and smooth in the finals, albeit with slower times than their prelims. On the Men's side the times got faster in the finals (Delts turned in a blistering 9:11 for the victory!) Also, it looked like RJ Stuart was doing the majority of the work for Delts, taking multiple lap pulls throughout the event. I'm sure Courtney Bishop and Ken Nowakowski have exact counts, but RJ probably did 2/3 of the pulling throughout the finals. Regardless, it was an impressive performance by the Delts (minus one of their riders rubbing wheels and almost crashing) and this surely adds fuel to the fire for race day. I can't wait to see the show-down!

What happened with Sigma Chi? Did they use team pursuit to decide some spots on the team? Were Marrow and Fish sick or gone? Did they wreck or almost wreck? Did they ride during the worst part of the weather issues?

They are to be a better team then Cutters and BKB second teams? Right?

Can't wait till next weekend. Good luck everyone

Delts period!!!

After watching the Cutters today and seeing how many problems they had in Team Pursuit while only missing finals by 4 seconds, I see how dangerous they are for the race.

One of Sigma Chis laps was 44 seconds with aero helmets on. Lolol. Bwaa ha ha. You should have kept Tom as your coach.

Who were the 4 from Sigma Chi that did TP?

It looks like Teter demonstrated that doing a practice race in hoodies didn't affect their legs.

sigma chi is 5 deep, they just put their B guys in for some experience

Yeah right.

haha, nice one, but they're only 2 deep at best. even then, their "stars" are underperforming. maybe keeping tommeke would've done some good

knapp's clearly got the theta girls going. perhaps he motivated them by his magic touch

knapp touched me once, but I wouldn't call it magical.

Lambda Chi and DU got screwed with going first, track was covered in water and it was pouring, not saying either team would have won but definitely not the bottom of the pack

And?

Sigma Chi doesn't have a "B team", they only have five riders. They dropped one guy kind of early and I'm sure that hurt them in the end. Their lack of attendance at the track probably has a lot to do with their lack-luster performance. No matter how much work they are doing away from the track it's near impossible to replicate the cinder track feel.

I think another issue Sig Chi has is there is a large amount of disparity between their 1,2 and 3,4 riders, looking at ITT times. I didn't get to watch their run but I could guess that Fish and Morrow started too fast and their 3 and 4 tried to match it but blew up quickly and had to be towed around for the remainder of the laps. Someone who was there can confirm or deny my assumptions.

I confirm that sig chi sucked and will not be a factor in this years race
