Beta Pre Quals

A time of 2m17 would have put them on pole every year of the past decade. Solid looking run, a couple of close exchanges and please tell me the second rider didn't sprint away with his hands on the tops (it's difficult to see)? Clearly a fast track but Beta put a marker down!

  1. Only a group morons would be bragging on a pre quals run! Explains why Beta races like crap EVERY YEAR!

  2. the clock didn't start until he was in turn 2

  3. Like I said,.....morons!

  5. M o r o n s. Quals has nothing to do with the race! Here's a tip, Potassium (K) take some some we aren't carrying you cramping Beta B<¥ches off the cinders this year. Shut up and ride. Videos?? Really????

  6. 9:31 - piss off! These guys put a great run together and I've said it before, it shows they've got some swagger this year that will likely translate on race day.

They learn from this video over the next 2 days and ten years from now, they'll appreciate that they made the video.

    Get after it Beta!

  7. Beta will clearly win the race. Just like SNU did last year. still an impressive time regardless. way to go boys!

  8. Was getting pretty worried. Hadn't seen a Beta video in a while...

  9. These clown qualed well last year. Finished 17th, nuff said.

    ReplyDelete
  10. that's funny, didn't cutters qual 17th (or so) and finish 1st one year? (2008)

  11. If John Grant is coaching these guys, Beta will be strong in the race. He knows what hes doing. However, if he were racing me he'd be trying to unlap himself and telling himself that's he's going to still win the sprint.

  12. Grants been coaching. Beta, shut up and race and potassium.

  13. What a wonderful thing, all this hate. Just reminds you what makes Little 500 special.

  14. It takes a little time to develop a team into champs. A 2:17 isn't a bunch of beefcakes training to win quals. That is more like a 2:22. a 2:17 is not far off from a quals record which means they have been training. They still may fall apart late in the race, but they have obvious speed if they can hang in there.

It's amazing through the years with all these college kids degrading any team that has success. It just reminds all the teams that are trying to win how weak minded most of you are.

  15. 10:31 - that is so transparent!

  16. Cutters,PDT,DTD haven't had major issues about how to stay on the lead lap, sooooo

    ReplyDelete
  17. they've had issues on how to keep the rubber side down

    ReplyDelete
  18. 10:47 - Actually Cutters and DTD had issues staying on the lead lap last year. Study up.

  19. I was excited to see the track looking so beautiful. Can't wait to be there this weekend.

As to the importance of quals, the real importance to race day is lowering your risk of being in a big crash by being up from. Otherwise, I think of it as evidence of how well the team functions. It takes a lot of practice to get runs really fast.

  21. I am studied up are u? Past 3 years Beta starts and goes backwards, the aforementionedentioned 3 have not. If a wreck does happen, they have the horses to
Get their asses up and make up major ground. Betas go backwards from the green.

  22. How much of a role do you figure the very mild winter played in this? Warmer temps and a nicer track (so it appears) will always lead to faster times.

But 2:17 is legit regardless. Impressive, Beta, but nothing matters until Saturday.

And the trash talk has begun. I love it. Makes me miss Btown at this time of year.

  23. beta boys will be in green for sure

    ReplyDelete
  24. beta qualled 5th and placed 5th two years ago, just fyi...they were horrible three years ago

    ReplyDelete
  25. Betas sucked last year! I hereby hex your qual Beta! Voodoo!

  26. CUTTERS went a 1:59 last night at their quals run. (actually 2:15)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Actually CUTTERS hit a 2:23 and Sigma Chi was 2:22. Track was a little loose last night so those were great times!

    ReplyDelete
  28. So we have beat Beta's into the ground and learned that unless it is with a celebrity don't post a vid of you doing anything...Now for those of us that are not in B-town who else should we be looking out for? Who are the underdogs?

  31. Corean LegStrong is definitely sandbagging it. Watch out for them on Saturday. You heard it hear first.

  32. what about fastest girl times? did Teter go 2:25?

    ReplyDelete
  38. So Fiji and Phi Psi crashed out, do you think they are gonna make it on Saturday? Are they strong teams despite the falls? Ive heard good things about Miles Johnson on Phi Psi...

    ReplyDelete
  39. FiJis probably dropped more exchanges over SB than they completed. they better pray that they get lucky on sat

    ReplyDelete
  40. So how fast was Wing-it? Just faster....

    ReplyDelete
  41. Phi Psi will be fine, maybe not the strongest team out there but Miles is solid. If they get a solid run during quals look for a top 10 quals spot. FIJI will need luck, and more luck to qual in the top half of the field.

  42. Teter had faster times on Spring Break than anyone, sounds like they are tired. They posted a 2:42 and then 2:48 the other day. It doesn't really matter as they do worse in the race when they win it at quals in past years.

All 4 of their girls are 2:41 to 2:47 in ITT's already. Their 2 freshman also posted fast 1 lap times. 35's from my watch.

    ReplyDelete
  43. What four guys from this year from all teams could post the fastest time? Record breaker?

    ReplyDelete
  44. ZBT - 31.7 fly lap w/exchange, 33.9, 34.5, and 33.1
