Quals times

http://www.iusf.indiana.edu/little500/rider_info/2010_Quals_Attempt_Times.pdf

Get there early for FIJI and DG, around lunchtime for BKB, the Cutters and Teter and at 4p for the drama of the third attempts and to see if Phi Psi can make a late run for the pole. Always the best day of the year!

  1. Race day is way better!

  2. Top two rows for men (in no order)

    F1J1
    PDT
    Gray Goat
    Sleeper Team
    BKB
    Cutters

    Also, two questions for discussion...

    1. Will the women's pole be fast enough to qualify for the men's race?? (FYI - Teter set a new women's quals record last year and would not have made men's field)

    2. Will ZBT finally qualify??

  3. Mens quals:
    1.) Grey Goat
    2.) Cutters (sorry no green)
    3.) PDT
    4.) BKB
    5.) FIJI
    6.) Sleeper

  4. Guys,

you're missing one of the best quals teams every year and they are fast and experienced.

    Phi Psi!

  5. My random attempt at this thing; if it's anything like my NCAA bracket, just take my picks and do the opposite:
    1) GGS
    2) Cutters
    3) DU
    4) Phi Psi
    5) PDT
    6) FIJI

  7. Ya, go with the last one.

  8. goldberg is going to carry the team on his back this year!!!

  9. Phi Psi looked fast in practice this PM even if like 80% of the teams they couldnt do a non-foul quality attempt! For what it's worth LAMP (m) had the best exchanges of the first hr! Dark horse!

  10. GG for the pole? No way! They are a major threat for the race but they aren't built for quals and I doubt it's a goal of theirs.

Phi psi, phi delts, fijis and Cutters will all be ahead of them.

  11. cutters
    fiji
    phi psi

    top 3 in that order

  12. Cutters will get pole this year. I'm going to guarantee it if it's clean. Young will break the track record on his first lap by a half second.

  13. I think Eric has a good shot at breaking the track record, but I don't think the Cutters will take the poll. Too unbalanced.

Without putting my own team in the top three, I predict

    Phi Delts, GG, Cutters

    Jordan

  14. Cutters threw down a nice run today I hear; any truth to this or is the Cutter ego translating over to this as well?

  15. Hoosier Climber is my sleeper team. They practice more than any team I have noticed. I love exchanges and they really push the limit.

  16. Prediction: despite the afternoon wind picking up a bit more throughout the day on Saturday, the track will be slow in the morning and the fastest times will be posted later in the day when the track is better packed after today's rain. Advantage: GDIs and a handful of frat teams. Sorry "F1J1." But not really.

  17. I am not sure that there is a record on the line. The timing of individual laps throughout the years has been sporadic at best. It is my understanding that there is no plan to time individual laps this year either. I agree that Young may very well break the “record” this year – but it is a bit of an unofficial record to begin with.

  18. I rode a 28 second lap the other day that I counted out in my head. Does that make me fast?

    ReplyDelete
  19. It also makes you retarded because you didn't do a 28 second lap

    ReplyDelete
  20. I think that I might have seen you do that lap. You were flyin. You reminded me of a skinny Zachary Lusk!

    ReplyDelete
  21. If I were to attempt to do something and knew I couldn't fail I would ride Little 5 for the Cutters!! GO CUTTERS!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Not even a skinny Lusk could ride a 28 second lap. Not sure if he could do it in the pace car either.

My Prediction for quals this weekend

    Cutters
    GG
    Phi Delt
    FIJI
    Phi Psi
    BKB
    BKB

  23. To the extent it matters, Lusk is a non factor, Young and Feldman are the ones you guys need to worry about.

    Cutters
    FIJI
    Phi Delt
    GG
    BKB
    Phi Psi

  24. Sideshow Clayton will be riding one of the tiny little clown bikes everyone else is riding. I hope he brought his horn, he's 6'3.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I can't ride a 28 second lap nor do I think it's possible. Maybe if I lose a couple more poinds I might be able to drop a 35 but I eat way too much McDonald's for that...I'm okay with it though I've got a good team around me

    ReplyDelete
  26. If you rearrange the letters in Zach Lusk you come up with the phrase La Husky Czar. Go Cutters!

  27. Fastest lap I ever timed was the last lap of the 1991 race. Noverr, Hubbard, Lance all CAT1 riders, the last (legal ones)in Little 500. Noverr wins with a 29.8 and the three jockeyed around until turn two and then sprinted to the finish.

  28. First, I'm 6'4

And as always Tom the Timer comes out to spoil everyone elses fun by dropping numbers all over the place.

See you all tomorrow at the track.

  29. 6'4 with your big hair and clown stilts on.

  30. Youn was 30.1 with an exchange

  31. standing 6'4, 6'6 with the fro

    The Cutters are the favorite.

    ReplyDelete
  33. The way Cutters are talking, you'd think they were smashing the track record with their practice attempts...

    ReplyDelete
  34. Track conditions will dictate everything tomorrow.

Slow track: slow scrubby teams with clean exchanges with overachieve

Fast track: The cream with rise to the top

...however, no track records will fall this year (sorry folks)

...of course I put nothing out of reach of Mr. Young. He may yet set an (unofficial) lap record for a quals run.

  35. "The way Cutters are talking, you'd think they were smashing the track record with their practice attempts..."

for the most part, it doesn't seem like the Cutters are really talking all that much. it's everyone else talking -about- them. as for the 2nd part of that statement and talk of breaking a record...

    30.1

  36. are you kidding me, 95% of the posts on the internet have come from cutters ip addresses over the past month. I saw these stats in the news

    ReplyDelete
  37. 98% of statistics are made up. i'm not kidding! besides, i may not always be right, but i'm never wrong.

  38. SNSM - oh the conundrum in that post.
